Duke Design
2004-2008
I was employed as a Full Time Graphic Designer and Finished Artist in an inner city Melbourne studio that specialise in producing packaging artwork for GMC, one of Australia’s biggest manufacturers of power tools and garden equipment.
My primary role was to create packaging artwork for a multitude of local and international brands including the GMC, ALDI and Taurus brand. I also worked on other support literature that was often multi-lingual.
I was heavily involved with the briefing process, which included direct contact with the client, participating and overseeing the artwork production process, developing design concepts, studio and location photoshoots, extensive photoshop retouching, and uploading the final artwork to overseas suppliers via FTP.
My role also involved managing the studio during peak times. This included overseeing the day to day work flow, arranging photoshoots, maintaining the FTP server and internet connection, liaising with suppliers and contacting freelancers when demand for finished artwork was at its seasonal peak.
